A fire destroyed this Tuesday morning the old mansion that was used for meetings of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), located on Beller Street corner R. Cesar Tolentino in the city of Santiago.
The causes of the fire are still unknown.
According to the person who called 911, the fire started at 10:10 in the morning and it is presumed that due to the behavior of the event it could have been a short circuit
Pere Joan Mercat Reis, a direct employee of the party, who had been living in the house since 2008, told reporters in the DIARI guide that he was not in the house and that everything he occupied was lost.
He said party members met at the local venue every 15 days, using the front as he occupied the back as housing.
He also stressed that the energy meter of the century-old structure had previously caught fire and that a brigade had changed it.
Two fire trucks and one for water supply went to the scene. In addition, they were agents of the National Police.
