According to the CDC, this particular variant is associated with increased transmissibility, which means it can spread more quickly. Early reports found no evidence to suggest that this variant has any impact on disease severity or vaccine efficacy.

DHSS continues to advise people to wear a mask, to practice good hand washing and physical distancing, and to stay home if they are not feeling well. If any symptoms are experienced or COVID-19 is suspected, DHSS encourages individuals to seek evidence.

Although with a limited supply, the COVID-19 vaccine is now available for health care workers, residents, and long-term care personnel, emergency personnel, and people with specific comorbidities or who are 65 years of age or older. More information at www.MOStopsCovid.com“.
