First production of the Rivian R1T assembly line

The wait for the first modern all-electric pickup truck to go into series production has ended as the Rivian R1T rolls switched off the production line.

*** UPDATE: It’s official. Here is Rivian’s tweet:

According to the latest report on RivianForums.com, Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe came out on top “venible” Rivian R1T, surrounded by employees at the Normal plant, Illinois.

The description says:

“Rivian’s first salable vehicle, the R1T. It took a lot of work and long days of programming to build this vehicle, it was bad to see that hard drive with RJ behind the wheel.”

There aren’t many details and there are only several low quality images attached to the forum post, but it looks like Rivian has finally reached the stage of having the first vehicles ready for customer deliveries.

Recall that the company has delayed the launch several times until September and this month the schedule was reconfirmed a few weeks.

Hopefully, we will soon receive official information about this historic event and learn about the evolution of customer deliveries.

Recently, Rivian vehicles have received EPA range ratings of over 300 miles on a single charge.

Rivian R1T Specifications:
