Fiscal Unit accuses 11 officials of misappropriation of L 122 million

TEGUCIGALPA.

the Specialized Tax Unit against Corruption Networks (Uferco) filed a tax lawsuit against 11 officials and former officials allegedly involved in the diversion of 122 million lempiras from the coffers of the state through a briefcase company.

Investigations reveal that in early 2014, the then Minister of Communications and Strategy, Hilda Hernández, requested the direct hiring of the company Servicios Inversiones AID for the management of advertising in the media for 98.3 million lempiras , without following the procedures set out in State Procurement Law.

the fiscal identified that 14 checks were also issued since Presidential house in favor of the company Services and Investments AID, without supporting documents, that added 23,700,000 of lempiras.

Those required are the Minister of Financial Management, Pere Alexander Pineda; the administrative manager of the Presidential House, Bulliu Edulfo Herrera; the general accountant of the Presidential House, Lesly Mirella Fúnez; and the administrative manager of the Presidential House, Áxel Eduardo Huete. Also, the gentlemen Norman Guillermo Noriega, Carol Vanessa Alvarado, Claudia Yamila Noriega, Mario Alberto Villanueva, Glòria Vargas, Judit Castañeda and Julio Antonio Galdámez.

In a statement Presidential house reported that all required information has been given to the MP and reaffirmed its commitment to continue to make every effort to ensure that investigations are conducted in accordance with the law while urging that the right to the presumption of innocence be respected to the required citizens.
