The state of Florida on Wednesday unveiled new performances for a long-awaited independent football facility that will line up the Seminoles with the best programs in the entire country.
When rival Clemson won headlines for its state-of-the-art facility, Miami built its own facility for the first time and Florida unveiled plans for an independent facility, the state of Florida began to lag behind. The Seminoles have never had their own independent football facility and share their current space not only with other sports, but also with student classrooms.
The planned facilities of 150,000 square meters will feature position meeting rooms, an updated locker room and weight room that include cryotherapy, a hyperbaric chamber and an altitude room, a dedicated recruiting lounge and suite, and reality areas. virtual / performance improvement.
In 2018, Florida State and Seminole Boosters unveiled a $ 100 million fundraising campaign for a new football facility, scholarship endowments and additional sports-specific projects. The state of Florida recently met the $ 100 million pledge goal, with more than $ 43 million raised for the privately funded football facility.
New Seminoles Boosters CEO Michael Alford and coach Mike Norvell made it a priority for plans for the installation to be completed as soon as possible.
“The response from our fans throughout the unconquered campaign shows their commitment to the state of Florida and our athletics program,” athletic director David Coburn said in a statement. “We need these additional facilities to adequately meet the needs of our football program and to allow us to expand the existing shared areas at the Moore Athletic Center and improve our ability to support all of our sports. I know we will find that these facility improvements have a big impact in all directions. “
The next step in the process is to finalize the costs of the project before it officially begins.
