Prosecutors have already asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for support in reviewing all the videos obtained and in which the murder of two FMLN militants was recorded on the night of the 31st. last January by government agents of Nayib Bukele.

Attorney General Raúl Melara said this morning after a meeting with representatives of the diplomatic corps at the
country, which has already asked for the support of the FBI, in order to strengthen the investigation into the attack on a group of FMLN militants in which in addition to two dead, there were two wounded.

Last week, Melara announced she would seek support from the FBI after President Nayib Bukele and the National Civil Police questioned the prosecution’s investigation into the incident, saying they were hiding videos that found shots fired from the caravan.

The fiscal investigation has determined that it was not a confrontation, that is, there were no shots fired from the truck of the FMLN militants but there was an aggression by security agents of the Ministry of Health and a motorist of this same state portfolio. These were even already charged and sent by the judge to pretrial detention while the investigations are extended.

In reaction, Melara said that the videos do not show that what the government maintains has happened, while regretting that the results of the investigation are being questioned by the police when police investigators have participated in them and have determined that there was never a confrontation. “I don’t understand who they are defending,” Melara said.

According to the request against the three defendants, the head of security of the Minister of Health, identified as Diego Alvarado Peña (who is a police officer assigned as PPI) along with Roberto Carlos Vedat, a member of the security of the same Ministry, is they went down and fired at the militants.

They were accompanied by the motorcyclist of the Deputy Minister of Health, identified as Héctor de Jesús Castaneda. He is credited with shooting at the sidewalk.

Alvarado Peña was injured, but so far authorities have not clarified how he was injured, as the videos do not show detonation from the caravan and he is seen walking normally to the vehicle to get away from the scene of the crime.

Alvarado Penya, according to the government, is hospitalized in a Social Security hospital where he was operated on for a gunshot wound to the abdomen. On the day of the attack, according to the tax investigation, no one wanted to take him to the hospital so as not to get into trouble, in addition there are contradictory versions of the fact by those involved.

Ballistic tests have determined that the approximately 13 9 mm caliber bullet casings found at the scene of the attack match those of Alvarado Penya’s weapon and those found in the corpses of Joan de Déu Tejada and Glòria. Rogel Delcid.

The attorney general said they are still “debugging the evidence” on this case.

Mayors and Fucks

In another issue, Melara confirmed that yesterday he received representatives of COMURES to address the issue of non-payment of Fodes to mayors by the government, but did not go into much detail or say whether to take action on this case, as requested by the Legislative Assembly.

“Yesterday I received a group of mayors representing COMURES who expressed their concern not to me
they have still received assignment from the Fucks. I understand that they will submit a writ to the Constitutional Chamber for a follow-up resolution to determine whether what the Chamber ordered the Ministry of Finance has been complied with, ”Melara replied.
