Former child star Matthew Mindler died by suicide: forensic

The death of former child star Matthew Mindler has been considered a suicide.

The Lancaster County Forensic Office ruled the “form of death” Monday, although the exact cause of Mindler’s death is still pending on the toxicology screen, TMZ reports.

Mindler, 19, was found dead on August 28, just three days after the disappearance of the first year of college was notified. His university, Millersville University, announced the news to students Saturday.

“It is with a sorrowful heart that I let you know the death of Matthew Mindler, 19, of Hellertown, Pennsylvania, a freshman at the University of Millersville. A search for Matthew had been carried out since Thursday, after he was reported missing, ”the announcement said.

Mindler’s family said he “did not return to his room or return calls from his family” Wednesday and was therefore reported missing. His last sighting was when he left the bedroom building on the evening of Tuesday, August 24th. Wednesday morning, he did not show up for his classes.

According to IMDB, the first role on Mindler’s screen was in a 2009 episode of “As the World Turns.” Two years later, he appeared in “Our Stupid Brother” alongside a number of A-listings, including Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Rashida Jones and Zooey Deschanel.

She appeared in a live stage performance of “This American Life” at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2014 and “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” in 2015. Her last accredited role, in 2016, was in the making for on the television movie “Chad: An American Boy,” opposite Nasim Pedrad.
