A U.S. Attorney General’s Office public affairs specialist confirmed by email that Greenberg was arrested Tuesday night for a bond violation.
Greenberg appeared before a judge on Wednesday at 2:15 p.m. for breach of bail. Prosecutors said he violated his pre-trial detention by traveling to Jupiter on Sunday and passing his curfew, which is 8 to 6 p.m.
According to prosecutors, the ankle monitor alerted authorities and Greenberg contacted Jupiter police.
His lawyer Fritz Scheller said he was in the area for family reasons. Greenberg wanted to go to court, but Scheller would not let him.
“I will not go into the substance of the allegations. We already know, we stipulated them. They were technical violations. Obviously, it’s a difficult process to stand by. It seems relatively easy, but it is not, ”said Scheller.
On Friday, both sides agreed to lower Greenberg’s bond restrictions, but it’s unclear why, as these court records are sealed.
