DANVILLE, Va. – Former “survivor” Jonny Fairplay and his mother were arrested Friday by Danville police on charges of robbery for allegedly robbing their grandmother.
According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, Fairplay, 46, whose real name is Jon Dalton, and his mother, Patsy Hall, 67, allegedly stole three bar stools, a final table and a leather desk chair worth $ 1,950. in all, as well as a silver necklace valued at $ 5,000.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by TMZ, Fairplay allegedly stole those items from his grandmother Jean Cook’s home without her consent.
Authorities said Fairplay and Hall showed up when they learned they had arrest warrants for them in Danville.
The case is being handled by the juvenile district family court.
Fairplay is known to compete in the CBS reality show series, “Survivor: Pearl Islands,” in 2003 to create what host Jeff Probst called the “biggest lie ever told” on the show, as reported by EW.
During the part of the series where contestants visit their loved ones, Fairplay had a friend tell her that her grandmother had died to gain sympathy from other contestants on the show. Immediately afterwards, she revealed in an individual interview that her grandmother, the same one mentioned in the arrest warrant, was actually alive and “sitting at home watching ‘Jerry Springer’ right now.”
