Four-round Steelers draft 2021 NFL draft

Today we’re going to take a look at the good, bad, and ugly of a new four-round mock Chad Reuter from NFL.com. The Pittsburgh Steelers have a list of NFL draft needs and will ultimately be reduced to the way the head office classifies those needs with a very deep draft.

In the first round, Reuter makes the Steelers take on USC offensive army Alijah Vera-Tucker. Vera-Tucker’s experience on both the guard and the attack would be appealing to Pittsburgh. There may still be technically better attacks on the board, but as a man with a high ceiling, Vera-Tucker makes sense here.

Moving into the second round, the Steelers are a little off the script with Florida State cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. If the second round works like this, it’s safe to assume that things have gone wrong for the Steelers in free agency with Cam Suttin and Mike Hilton. Pittsburgh hasn’t had much luck drafting corners, but that could be a necessity.

Stanford center-back Drew Dalman is the Steelers ’pick in the third round. This is where things take a turn for me. I don’t see Dalman as an NFL starter with his lack of strength and technique. There are many better options for the Steelers in this round.

Finally, in the fourth round, the Steelers select Oregon runner-up Jermar Jefferson. Like Dalman in the third round, this selection doesn’t seem like a good use of the pick in such a deep draft. There’s no denying that the Steelers want to draft a runner, but Jefferson is almost completely insignificant in any facet of his game.
