Francisco Lindor adds another man

The Mets ’5-3 spring training observations win the Marlins at Clover Park on Tuesday.

On a mission

Francisco Lindor threw his fourth honor in his last five games, leading the Mets ’5-3 display victory. The short field also doubled as part of his 3-on-4 performance and owns a 1,074 OPS in the Grapefruit League. Lindor and the Mets continue to discuss a possible contract extension.

Stroman fight

Marcus Stroman allowed three runs in nine hits in five innings. The Marlins scored all of their runs against the right winger in the fourth and fifth innings, while increasing their throw count to 76.

Caught my attention

Mike Piazza, camped out this week as a special instructor, worked with Kevin Pillar on swing mechanics before the game. Pillar won 2-4 against the Marlins and raised his Grapefruit League average to .324.

Wednesday opening hours

Taijuan Walker is the planned starting pitcher against the Cardinals on Jupiter. Others scheduled to appear at the Mets are Dellin Betances, Miguel Castro and Jeurys Familia.
