NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – As of Saturday, all New Yorkers over the age of 50 are allowed to go to any COVID vaccination site in the city to make an appointment.
Previously, personalized appointments were only available to New Yorkers over the age of 75.
The mayor says this policy also applies to emerging sites managed by the city.

Earlier this week, the challenge of finding a date in the city had apparently eased; thousands of appointments were not immediately claimed.
The mayor said more emerging sites and a robust supply of vaccines could be the reasons for the reasons. He said it is good for the city.
Others feared that the appointments could start to be wasted. If left unused, vaccine reserves may increase.
Mayor Blasio said 99% of New Yorkers now live within a mile of a vaccination site.
