Frida Sofia will initiate legal action after reporting abuse stage

MEXICO CITY– A week after assuring that she would have been abused by her grandfather Enrique Guzmán, singer Frida Sofia announced on Thursday that she will take legal action.

In an Instagram post, the daughter of singer Alejandra Guzmán said she will be represented by the Mexican law firm OLEA & OLEA.

“With the unparalleled support of my family and friends, I have made the decision to initiate legal action against several people for facts that are in the public domain,” he said. “I urge the relevant authorities to conduct the appropriate investigations.”

The Associated Press contacted the lawyers’ office on Thursday for more details, although they have indicated that they would not give statements at this time.

The young woman thanked the support she has received and asked for help from people who had been her teachers, psychologists or had worked at home to get in touch with her.

Frida Sofia, 29, is the daughter of pop-rock star Alejandra Guzmán and businessman Pablo Moctezuma.

Enrique Guzmán has categorically rejected Frida Sofia’s accusations on social media and in interviews.

Guzmán, 78, is an idol of Mexican rock and roll. He began his career at age 14 with The Teen Tops and starred in films such as “My Life is a Song”, “Chamaca Specialist” and “Youth Fever”. In 1967 he married the actress Silvia Pinal, with whom he had Alejandra Guzmán and Luis Enrique Guzmán before divorcing in 1976.
