From tomorrow the banks will be open until 4:00 pm and closed on Saturdays and Sundays

Following the new measures imposed today by the Government, multiple banks operating in the country made adjustments to their face-to-face service schedules in offices, branches and self-banks.

From this December 31, from Monday to Friday, the closing hours of all banks will be until 4:00 pm and that the first two Saturdays and Sundays of January will be closed at all times, the Association of Commercial Banks of the Dominican Republic (ABA).

The ABA has added that each bank will maintain the current opening hours to date in all its branches, so it urges to visit its communication platforms to confirm the hours when they will be available for face-to-face services.

Likewise, the trade union entity recommended financial users to use digital platforms that keep the different banks active to offer services to their customers at all times, thus contributing to reducing the presence of people in the branches.

He stressed that if it is necessary to visit the offices, banks have strict protocols for prevention and containment of viruses that include the mandatory use of mask and disinfectant gel before entering the locations, limited customer access to avoid congestion, frequent cleaning and disinfection of workspaces and customer service, among others.

Other measures include the deployment of information on high-visibility sites in branches and offices on what to do to prevent infection; implementation of a telework plan for specific areas of banks, including the most vulnerable people and action protocol for handling cases of contagion by mitigating risks to third parties.
