Today, at Fujifilm’s X World Summit, the company announced two new cameras, including the new GFX 100S, which is the company’s most compact large-format camera to date.

Weighing in at 1.9 pounds, the GFX 100S is closer in size to a traditional DSLR camera than its bigger brother, the standard GFX 100. However, despite having a 30 percent smaller body, the GFX 100S still has a huge 102 MP sensor with a recently improved body image stabilization system that provides up to 6 shock reduction stops.

As with so many Fujifilm cameras, the GFX 100S includes 19 different movie simulation filters, including the brand new Nostalgic Neg. filter that seeks to recreate the red tones and amber tones seen in photos from the seventies.

Similar to its older sibling, the GFX 100S features a monochrome electronic ink screen on top with virtual spheres, along with a new larger AF joystick and a slightly redesigned control wheel on the left, similar to what get al XF-10. Around on the back there is also a 3.2-inch variable angle touch screen that can be adjusted in three directions. And while the GFX 100S is designed primarily as a still camera, it also supports 4K videos at up to 30 fps.

However, in order to make the GFX 100S so small, Fujifilm had to make some commitments such as removing the bracket for optional battery grip. In terms of bright looks, thanks to the use of a new NP-W235 battery, the GFX 100S should be able to take around 460 photos on a single charge, compared to the 400 on the standard GFX 100 ( with a single battery).

Alternatively, if 100 MP is more than you really need, Fujifilm also introduces the XE-4, which is a kind of crossover between X100 i X-S10 but without bodily stabilization. With a 26.1 MP sensor while weighing just 0.8 pounds, Fujfilm says the XE-4 is the most compact camera that supports interchangeable lenses in the X-Series range.

Fujiflm claims the XE-4 should offer fast speed autofocus performance with support for both face and eye detection. However, for people looking for a flexible digital rangefinder with a few extra tricks, the most important feature of the X-E4 may be its 3-inch rear screen that can be rotated 180 degrees so you can see it from the front and more easily record vlog-style videos.

And with support for 4K recording at 30 fps or Full HD capture up to 240 fps, users will have the flexibility to choose between higher resolution or faster recording speeds for better slow time.

Finally, in addition to the two new cameras, Fujifilm is also launching three new lenses, including a new 27mm f / 2.8mm pancake lens, an 80mm f / 1.7mm main lens and a 70-300mm telephoto lens / 4-5.6.

Both cameras are expected to go on sale someday in March, with the GFX 100S starting at $ 6,000 (body only) and the X-E4 at $ 850 (body only) or $ 1,050 as kit with a 27 mm f / 4 lens.
