Super Sexual Shooter Has “Consistency Issues”
Developer Inti Creates has announced that it will cancel the Xbox One port from its next remaster Return to Gal Gun, although development has ended on the Microsoft platform.
In a statement posted yesterday on Twitter, Inti Creates said that while Return to Gal Gun has a master ROM fully prepared for review, ongoing discussions with Microsoft have led to the decision to completely cancel the Xbox port, citing that the developer could no longer “ensure consistency of experience” across all platforms. Hmm …
Return to Gal Gun is a remaster of the famous 2011 rail shooter Gal Gun, which sees the player enter the role of a male student – armed with a rain of “pheromone arrows” – in a quest to connect with the galaxy of his dreams. To achieve this goal, the protagonist must defend himself from the obsessive desire of an entire school full of girls, leading them to a state of “euphoria” with the well-placed “Ecstasy Shots”.
While Inti Creates remains (slightly) obscure with its comments, it’s not at all hard to read between the lines of what’s happened here, especially considering that the original Xbox 360 version of Gal Gun a patch issued by Microsoft was issued to restrict camera controls.
As for Inti Crea, Return to Gal Gun it is still slated to be released west, on February 12, on PC and Nintendo Switch. Customers who place a pre-order will have a limited edition “Smells Like a Girl” Lordy bookmark.
