For a long time, if you wanted a phone with a legitimate pencil — and I don’t mean one of those weak ones—Sauce Sauces with a Knot Knotted at the Top: Your only real choice was a Galaxy Note. However, after adding stylus support to various tablets and laptops, Samsung decided to release this stylus on their phones this year, too, by creating an S-Pen for Galaxy S.21 Ultra. And while the S21 Ultra accessory is $ 40 it’s not the same cohesive package you get with a Note, it’s very useful for less strong strict pencil enthusiasts.
One of the best things about the S-Pen S21 Ultra is that there is virtually no setup. All you have to do is grab it from the box, hold it close to your phone screen, and you’re ready, all the software you need is already cooked. Since the S21 Ultra’s S-Pen is also a passive stylus, you don’t have to worry about keeping it charged.
As in a Note, placing the S21 Ultra stylus above the right edge of the screen, a floating button appears that allows you to access almost all the standard features of Samsung S-Pen, including the traditional note-taking, smart selection (for cropping video images), screen writing, live messaging, RA doodle and translator. There’s also a handy configuration shortcut that lets you customize S-Pen features, such as activating Screen Off Memo (allowing you to take notes without unlocking them) the phone), display a pointer as you move the cursor and more.

However, because the stylus does not have an active Bluetooth connection as obtained with the Galaxy Note’s S-Pen, the stylus of the S21 Ultra cannot be used as a remote shutter. images or shake them to use Samsung air shares.
That said, the S21 Pen’s S-Pen has some of its own advantages. Not only does it come with two extra pencil tips that you can change for a slightly different feel, but the pencil itself is also slightly longer and thicker than a standard Galaxy Note stylus. This may not sound like much, but even for someone like me who doesn’t have big hands, it’s much more comfortable to hold, even though it offers a useful button for things like erasing. Tthe super slim dimensions of a Note’s S-Pen often made it feel as if I had to break it, while the S21 Ultra’s stylus feels more like a normal writing tool.
The downside of this S-Pen version is that since it’s an accessory, there’s nowhere to store it when not in use, unless you opt for Samsung’s $ 70 package that includes the S-Pen and a silicone case for the S21 Ultra. On its own, Samsung’s silicone case is perfectly functional and does everything you need to make a case: IIt covers all the corners, protects the rear camera and has a slot for the S-Pen.
Unfortunately, for me and the other 90% of the people in the world who are dexterous, the slot for the S-Pen is on the left, which means you have to do a slightly awkward shuffle or stretch. to insert the stylus. the right hand to draw or pointdam. I admit it’s not a big deal, but it’s a bit awkward and compared to a Galaxy Note, it’s just not that sleek. But that’s the commitment you have to make do for an optional accessory.
Still, even as someone who doesn’t consider himself a fanatic, it’s very complexmentoring the S21 Ultra with an S-Pen transforms the experience. Thanks to live messages, I definitely came across more text messages, if only to scribble on friend memes. I use Smart Select to create GIFs of these seals when I see them, just because it’s so easy. And while I don’t take a lot of traditional notes, I find it very helpful to be able to annotate PDF. So even if you don’t use it all the time, it’s good to have the option to use a stylus when the situation occurs.
I really appreciate it that Samsung no longer limits the stylus to the Galaxy Note line. Phone pencils aren’t for everyone, but they shouldn’t be strictly limited to the $ 1,000 flagship and that Moto headset.. And while the S21 Ultra is definitely not cheap, we expect Samsung to continue to extend pencil support to the rest of the Galaxy S line and more in the future.
