GameStop PS5 Restock Debacle leaves customers angry

GameStop is a trend on Twitter, and many of the tweets include angry customers complaining about recent PS5 replacements. GameStop has had several PS5 replacements this month. It has also had several Xbox Series X replacements. And those replacements have provided many new generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles before Christmas. However, it has also gone very wrong for the retailer. Not only are robots and resellers continuing to absorb supply, but orders are also being canceled. In other words, even if you manage to beat the robots, block the site, and beat the millions of PlayStation fans who are also trying to get an order, it can end up being canceled for several reasons.

Also, it looks like GameStop’s supply can’t fulfill your orders. Customers report that the consoles they were informed they received weeks ago do not show up, meanwhile in some cases the retailer tells customers that they will not receive their console until April 2021.

It’s been a bit of a debacle. And it’s also been a disaster for other retailers, including Walmart, Target, Best Buy and Amazon. However, right now it’s GameStop that’s in vogue on Twitter, and that’s partly because users make GameStop jokes about stimulus checks, but also because there are a lot of angry GameStop customers going to the social media platform to provoke frustration.
