MADRID – Gareth Bale will miss Real Madrid’s visit to Inter Milan next Wednesday and has no estimated return date after confirming he has a hamstring injury to his right thigh.
The Welsh striker already missed the win against Celta de Vigo on Sunday after injuring himself in training last Saturday. Bale left the Santiago Bernabéu stadium limping and with his thigh bandaged and tests performed on Monday confirmed that he is suffering from a hamstring injury.
This is the first serious problem for a Carlo Ancelotti who in the first three games lined up the Welshman as a starter. Bale’s injury comes at a difficult time due to the start of the Champions League against Inter Milan, which added to the matches against Valencia, Mallorca, Villarreal and Espanyol make Madrid face a loss sensitive one of the most complicated months of competition.
During his transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, Bale had three injuries: a knee injury and two muscle injuries. However, since last December, the Madrid striker has not had any physical problems again.
Bale’s departure coincides, and is not the first time, with his return from international engagements with Wales. From the club no one points to his selection as the cause of the injury, but it is true that, whenever there is a certain accumulation of matches for the Welshman, as in the recent FIFA match date, Bale ends up accusing the effort.
From the medical services department no date is given back to the playing fields. We want to be careful with the Welshman so that he returns to competition as soon as possible, but without dragging more muscle problems.
