Gary was a hero in the Yankees’ comeback against the Twins

NEW YORK – Aaron Judge tied the board with a three-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning, Gary Sanchez fired a single in the tenth inning to leave the Twins on the field and the New York Yankees cleared a disadvantage of 5:00 notes to win Monday 6-5 in Minnesota.

New York, with its peak season in the past two weeks, won for just the fourth time in 16 games after a streak of 13 straight wins. He came close to half the game of the leaders for the wildcard of the American League, Toronto and Boston, with 18 games left on the regular calendar.

Gleyber Torres, who lost the title as a torpedo boat and was placed in second base, started the 10th inning as an emerging runner. After an out, Sanchez shot his single in front of Ralph Garsa Jr. (1-3) and Torres scored without difficulty.

Jorge Polanco and Miguel Sanar connected two-goal home runs in the first inning and Byron Buxton added a lone tackle to the third to give Minnesota a 5-0 lead over rookie Luis Gil.

DJ LeMahieu started the comeback with a high sacrifice in the sixth inning that Max Kepler caught from a jump in the right field. Joey Gall sounded his 33rd home run of the campaign and eighth with the Yankees in the seventh inning against Tyler Duffey.

Judge, back in the lineup after coming out of Sunday’s game against the Mets by dizziness in the third inning, flew the fence with Anthony Rizzo and Brett Gardner on board to reach 33 homers and tie the board.

Clay Holmes (5-1) worked the tenth inning to take the win.

New York ended a six-game losing streak at home, its longest in a decade.

For the Yankees, the Dominican Sanchez 2-1 with a boost. Venezuelan Gleyber Torres 4-0 with a score. Colombian Gio Urshela 1-0.

For the Twins, Dominicans Miguel healed 5-3 with two drives and one scored; Jorge Polanco 5-1 with two produced and one scored. The Venezuelan Luis Arráez 5-2 with a score.
