The California withdrawal election offers ordinary Californians the chance to have some say about controlling their state. And that infuriates the progressive elites who rule it all now.
Fundraising against the withdrawal of Governor Gavin Newsom is on track to raise $ 70 million, up from just $ 8 million raised by the withdrawal effort. Its main fundraisers include government workers (the Prison Guard Union and, of course, the California Teachers Union) – and people from Netflix CEO Reed Hastings. In fact, all the big Hollywood and Silicon Valley shots are coming out en masse (and checks) for Newsom.
But money and cultural influence can only get him so far: he still has to get 50% of the vote to keep his job; otherwise, the top voter in the second half of the vote becomes governor (who has progressives who denounce the whole process as “undemocratic”).
And he faces an energetic Republican base when grassroots Democrats aren’t too enthusiastic. Thus, his campaign and its allies have not sidelined by calling Newsom’s alleged successes, but calling them “racists.”
In March, Newsom called the withdrawal effort “white supremacist.” His campaign website states that the unit is driven by “a Republican coalition in favor of national Republicans, anti-vaxxers, QAnon conspiracy theorists, anti-immigrant activists and Trump supporters.”

Then the talk radio host, Larry Elder, jumped into the race and quickly jumped to the top of the polls. That it was black did not stop the bombing; the left simply went on to state, as one Los Angeles Times piece put it, “Larry Elder is the black face of white supremacy.”
It doesn’t matter that California has one of the highest unemployment rates and that Los Angeles County the worst county-level unemployment rate. Countless companies are paralyzed by Newsom’s blocking policies (even when Hollywood gets to operate without restrictions).
It doesn’t matter that Newsom kids attended face-to-face private school last year when California public schools remained closed.
It doesn’t matter that Newsom dined indoors, perhaps, at the nation’s most expensive restaurant, unmasked defying its own rules, surrounded by fellow pandemics under pressure from the pandemic (“French laundry for me, but not for you “).
Homelessness and crime are soaring in major California cities, quality of life is deteriorating and wildfires, all under Newsom surveillance.
It is not uncommon for the state to lose a seat in the chamber after the 2020 census: progressive policies have slowed its growth for decades, so the rest of America surpasses the old Golden State.
Fighting Californians are waking up to the hypocritical government of the progressive elite. But fear can prevail if the “best people” scare enough voters to send emails in “no” votes before Sept. 14.
