Former “General Hospital” and “Dallas” television soap star John Reilly has died, his daughter said Sunday.
Reilly was 84, according to his IMDb profile.
The handsome actor with a dimple skin got a recurring role in the “Dallas” night soap in the early 1980s before taking a spot on ABC’s top daily series “General Hospital” as retired spy Sean Donely.
He was so popular at one point that actor John C. Reilly, an unrelated star character, had to add the middle initial to his name to be identified separately, director Judd Apatow once a tweet is made.
“The brightest light in the world has gone out. Imagine the best person in the world. Now imagine this person being your father, ”John Reilly’s daughter Caitlin Reilly wrote on Instagram on Sunday, alongside a photo of her father hugging her as a child.
“I’m so grateful it was mine,” he added of John Reilly.
“I am very grateful that I loved him. I am so grateful that I arrived in time to grab him and say goodbye. Honestly, I don’t know what I’ll do, but I know he’ll be with me. I love you forever Dad. “
