George Clooney has long had a reputation for being a prankster on the set of his films, which has apparently moved into his parenting style.
The 59-year-old actor did a virtual interview for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Friday, where he was promoting his new Netflix film The Midnight Sky.
With Christmas just around the corner, Clooney revealed the minor joke he made to his children, in an effort to get them to behave during Christmas.

Clooney did the interview from his home in London and joked that he was trying to prevent his children from being completely assimilated as British, joking that his children, the three-year-old twins Alexander and Ella, wanted to stop drinking milk and chop cake for Santa, instead of milk and cookies.
He also revealed that he “devised a way” to keep his children, which he shares with his wife Amal Clooney, online during the hectic holidays.
“At age three, you just try to keep your kids online, so I came up with a way to behave during that time,” Clooney said.

“When they sleep in the morning (they sleep in the same bedroom), they start making noises and they feel like the two are facing each other, and I stand outside the door and say‘ Oh hello Santa! “and then you feel like Santa is there and it’s like‘ Ho ho ho, ’” Clooney said with his best cheerful impression of St. Nick.
“And I say,‘ What are you doing here, Santa? and he says to me, ‘Oh, I just make sure the kids are good kids.’ “
“And you can hear them say,‘ We’re Santa! Are we! “Then they leave, they come out and they behave incredibly,” he added.

While the trick has worked wonders over the holidays, it’s already trying to figure out how to adapt it to Easter time.
“I’m worried about the Easter Bunny, because I’m not sure how it sounds,” Clooney joked.
Clooney added that he was in London because there was supposed to be a “drive-in premiere” of his film The Midnight Sky.

“I landed and they came out and they said,‘ We just got to level 3, you have to put quarantine for two weeks in your house, ’” Clooney added.
He added that his wife Amal is in quarantine with him, “and that’s all right,” in addition to having his children there.
Clooney stars in and directs The Midnight Sky, his seventh feature film as a director, debuting on December 23 on Netflix.
