The former Republican president of the United States, George W. Bush, plans to attend the inauguration of Democratic President-elect Joe Biden on Jan. 20, Bush’s spokesman said Tuesday.
“President and Mrs. Bush hope to return to the Capitol for the swearing-in of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris,” his spokesman Freddy Ford said.
This will be the eighth swearing-in ceremony the Bushmen will attend, Ford said. A day after Joe Biden’s victory was announced on November 7, George W. Bush called him to congratulate him.
“Attending the peaceful transfer of power is a culmination of our democracy that never goes out of style,” he added. in an apparent allusion to Donald Trump, Who still refuses to acknowledge his defeat.
