Giannis Antetokounmpo shoots 85%, scoring 47 on the Portland Trail Blazers’ thrashing

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 47 points while missing just three shots when the Milwaukee Bucks got the Portland Trail Blazers’ four-win streak with a 127-109 victory Friday night.

Jrue Holiday added 22 points and 10 assists for the Bucks, who led 24 points during the third quarter.

The game featured two of the league’s top scorers: Damian Lillard averaged 29.8 points, second in the NBA, while Antetokounmpo came in fifth with 28.3.

But Antetokounmpo had his hot hand on Friday, making all 18 of his shots inside the 3-point arc. League Wilt Chamberlain with field goals of more than 2 points missed, according to ESPN statistics and information.

An early 11-0 run helped the Bucks advance 19-7. Milwaukee led 14 points during the first half, but the Blazers narrowed the gap to 60-53 before entering the break.

Lillard’s triple hit Portland in a 60-58 period early in the fourth quarter, but the Bucks didn’t let the Blazers get close. The Holiday basket extended Milwaukee’s lead to 86-70, and the Bucks closed out the quarter with an 11-1 run.

The Bucks dominated the paint all night, and no one but the two-time MVP. Antetokounmpo outscored the Trail Blazers 47-46 by two points and the free throw line, the first player to achieve this feat, according to the Elias Bureau.

The Blazers bench struggled, going 0-16 from the field during the first three quarters. Anfernee Simons got a triple early in the quarter to end the drought.

Milwaukee got a 112-97 victory over the Lakers on Wednesday, getting a three-game losing streak.
