Gillian Anderson and fellow writer Peter Morgan, who worked together on the final season of The Crown, have split amicably after four years together.
Fallas actress Anderson, 52, and Morgan, 57, were one of the brightest couples in the British entertainment world, though they never shared a home.
Gillian has won countless awards for her role as an FBI agent, Dana Scully, in The X-Files; and, more recently, the acclaim for his portrayal of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in season 4 of The Crown.

Peter was nominated for an Oscar for his screenplay for the 2006 film The Queen, starring Helen Mirren; and garlanded with praise for his stage productions, including Frost / Nixon and The Audience (about the monarch and his prime ministers); as well as to create The Crown.
They supported the careers of others. Morgan was often seen on Anderson’s early nights and was often seen together on the awards season circuit in Los Angeles and London.
But I’ve heard that the relationship has taken its course, not helped by various work commitments and family logistics (each has children from past relationships), even though they remain great friends.

This week I addressed the representatives of Anderson and Morgan, but they declined to comment.
Anderson, 52, is a quality actor who has sought out complex and powerful roles in hits such as The Fall, where he played Detective Stella Gibson, chasing a sadistic serial killer; and Sex Education, where she is the main character’s sex therapist mother.
On stage he excelled as Blanche, in an ardent production of A Streetcar Named Desire at Young Vic; and was excellent in the recent adaptation of All About Eve, alongside Lily James.
She also shone in the BBC TV dramatization of Charles Dickens’ Bleak House as the elegant and enigmatic Lady Dedlock.

Morgan, 57, who won a BAFTA for the mini-series The Lost Honor Of Christopher Jefferies, is completing screenplays and preparing to film the fifth season of The Crown next year with Imelda Staunton portraying our sovereign.
Reports that Gillian had found love with Peter broke down in October 2016 when Sebastian Shakespeare of The Daily Mail confirmed she was telling friends she had dated the screenwriter.
Gillian, who lives in London, was at a party in New York with Peter to promote The Crown, where she was heard telling friends they had a relationship.
Peter, whose film successes include The Queen and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, was married to Lila Schwarzenberg (born Princess Anna Carolina zu Schwarzenberg) until 2014. She already has five children with her.
Since the revelation of the relationship, Gillian has supported Peter when The Crown rose to a Golden Globe nomination.
Gillian has her daughter Piper, 26, with her ex-husband Clyde Klotz, whom she married from 1994 to 1997.
He also has children Oscar, 14, and Felix, 12, with ex-partner Mark Griffiths, with whom he dated until 2012.
The Fall star was also married to documentary filmmaker Julian Ozanne from 2004 to 2006.
In January of this year, Gillian revealed that “it would be the end” of their relationship with their screenwriting partner if they ever settled together and that she preferred the couple to live in separate homes.
The Sex Education star told The Times that she liked “nothing closes us” living separately, adding that they don’t have to fear how they would manage logistics if they ever split in the future.

Speaking of his relationship with Peter, Gillian said:If we did, that would be the end of us. It works as well as it is, it feels so special when we get together. And when I’m with my kids, I can be there completely. It’s exciting.
‘We choose when we need to be together. There is nothing that closes us, nothing that evokes this fear in ” Wow, I can’t leave because what will happen to the house, how will we separate? ”.
“I’m starting to miss the person I want to be with, which is a lovely feeling. And it’s so huge for me to be able to see some pants left lying on the floor at my partner’s house and step on them and not feel like it’s the my job is to do something about it.
In November, Gillian insisted she had “very clear boundaries” with her partner Peter when they worked together on the fourth series of The Crown.
Gillian told the publication: “For our sake and, indeed, for the benefit of the relationship, we had very clear boundaries.
“I’m not going to comment on the script, but you’re not allowed to comment on the performance.”
