TEMPE, Arizona (KPNX) – A 12-year-old Arizona girl is scheduled to attend college with plans to become a NASA scientist after graduating.
At 12, Alena Wicker is well on her way to achieving her dreams at Arizona State University. He graduated from high school this year and quickly gained access to all classes in the home school. He will begin college classes this summer with the goal of working at NASA as an engineer.
“I only had one goal I wanted to reach,” Alena said. “I always dreamed of being an engineer because throughout my life I enjoyed building.”
Alena’s passion for construction began with Lego games when she was little.
“At 4, she said, ‘Mom, I’m going to work for NASA and I’m going to go up there.’ “She only had one gift for numbers, Lego and science, so I started feeding that gift.”
One that will exceed expectations, Alena will be double in astronomical and planetary sciences and chemistry. If all goes well, he will take over the university at 16 and leave for NASA the same year. His goal is to build rovers, like the one sent to Mars on the Perseverance mission.
“I will be driving one of these future space mobiles by the time I finish college,” Alena said. “It doesn’t matter what your age or what you want to do. Go ahead, dream it and do it. “
