Google’s New Year’s doodle shows Froggy looking out over the city skyline as the first day of a new year and a new decade begins.
Froggy, the weather frog, is a Google character who appears in the Meteorology app on Android phones. The skyline of the city where Froggy is looking has changed several times since New Year’s Eve, as cities around the world welcomed the new year in different time zones.
On New Year’s Eve, most users had seen Froggy with his bird friend watching the fireworks illuminating the night sky at the start of the new year.

Google had started the festive season with the Doodle Happy Holidays series. On Christmas Eve, Google Doodle had animated candles on its homepage indicating the start of the holiday week followed by the Christmas day doodle where a Santa was seen sliding on a Christmas tree in his traditional sleigh of reindeer inside a snow globe.
Google wishing happy new year to its users also says, “Wherever you are, whether the sky is clear or not, we expect your vision of the year to be 20/20.”
