FRANKFORT, Ky (WKYT) – Governor Andy Beshear has provided an update on COVID-19 cases.
The governor says that on Tuesday, shipments of the first Modern vaccine allocation will be delivered to some hospitals, and according to Wednesday, each acute care hospital will have a number of vaccine doses.
Governor Beshear reported 1,988 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the state total to 244,297 cases. The governor says the state is seeing a positivity rate of 8.64%. Of Monday’s new cases, 241 are in children 18 years of age or younger.
On Monday, 15 COVID-19-related deaths were reported. The total state deaths are now 2,412.
As of Monday, 1,580 people are hospitalized for COVID-19-related reasons, 411 in the ICU and 231 with ventilators. At least 34,704 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.
