Gov. Pedro Rafael Pierluisi Urrutia insisted Friday that he will wait for federal government guidelines to address President Joseph Biden’s Executive Order on the vaccination requirement for federal employees and contractors, as well as companies with 100 or more employees.
“My work team, the legal advisor, the Fortress is reviewing. Guides are coming that haven’t been published yet. We want to see when the guides are published, because the order is pretty general. We want to see what the exclusions are if any has that policy, “the governor told a news conference.
“I must say that, so far, what we have implemented has yielded results. The vast majority of public servants have been vaccinated as we request. And we will also be monitoring the rest of the sectors in which we have promoted vaccination,” he said. add.
According to the governor, one of the issues he wants to review is whether the U.S. president’s guidelines include, for example, an exclusion from vaccination for religious reasons.
“I’ve always been willing to reconsider, but I won’t do it again lightly. I want to see the guides to see if we do the same in Puerto Rico,” he concluded.
