GTA 5 Roasting Franklin Lamar memes have continued to be more and more frequent in gaming circles over the past few days. The meme format, which is what we reported here on ComicBook.com a few days ago, has only continued to evolve even further since then. Now, perhaps it has reached its crescendo with possibly the best iteration of the meme that has occurred.
Courtesy of PlayStation Haven, the YouTube channel got real-life actors, both Lamar and Franklin, to reprise their roles as characters and play the scene in person. Slink Johnson and Shawn Fonteno, who play Lamar and Franklin respectively, can be seen in the following video playing the iconic stage of big car thief V with absolute perfection. Everything in this sense, from the way the camera moves to the intonation of the voices of Johnson and Fonteno, is nailed in this recreation.
What fascinates me most about this whole video is that it even exists quickly. This Franklin de Lamar meme format has only gained strength over the past week or two, so both Fonteno and Johnson have come together to represent this scene so quickly it’s a little surprising. I could have imagined that this would become something maybe in a few weeks or months, but that both actors would have managed to make this happen in the midst of a period of popularity of memes on the internet is a lot of fun. He yelled at Fonteno and Johnson to do it and they sure put a smile on the faces of many around the world.
