GREAT FALLS – Great Falls High School will implement remote learning the rest of the current week due to a growing number of Covid cases.
Great Falls Public Schools said in a press release Monday afternoon that since a “high percentage” of students and staff are quarantined or isolated, all GFHS students and staff will conduct the distance learning for the rest of the week, starting Monday night, September 13th.
Classes at GFHS will return to a normal schedule on Monday, September 20 at 7 p.m.
Great Falls High School is not alone: Plains High School in Sanders County has also moved into remote learning this week due to the increase in cases of COVID-19 and all extracurricular activities in the United States. ‘institute will be canceled until Monday 20 September.

Great Falls public schools have been overseeing the spread of COVID-19 since school began. Today at Great Falls High School we have seen the number of confirmed active positive cases increase to over 35 people, staff and students. There have been confirmed case concentrations. However, people in quarantine or in isolation have affected all departments of the institute.
As of 12:00 today we have identified more than 40 classrooms that will need to be disinfected. Our guardians have begun this process and will continue into the evening. Since a high percentage of students and staff are quarantined or isolated, we will be moving all students and staff from Great Falls High School to remote learning for the rest of the week, starting this evening on September 13th. from 2021 at 5:00 pm until Monday morning, September 20, 2021.
Great Falls High School classes will return to a normal schedule on Monday, September 20 at 7:00 AM. This will allow quarantine or isolation times for staff and students to pass and for our sanitation teams to do deep cleaning and air exchange throughout the school.
Parents and staff have received or are receiving notifications of the data. Student learning will continue throughout the week through packages and remote learning.
School Foods will provide food distribution for the rest of the week at the Paris Gibson Education Center. This will be the only place of distribution and it will be a situation of “take and go”. Meals must be picked up Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at the east entrance of the Paris Gibson Education Center on 25th South Street.

In addition, student athletic activities will continue this week as planned. However, there will be safety and health protocols that include a mask requirement when students and coaches are very close. Spectators are also asked to wear masks at all Great Falls High athletic events at this time.
