Although big car thief V has been in vogue for almost a decade now, many fans still have a weak spot for the entry that preceded it in GTA IV. Fortunately, for this fan base, the fourth installment of the long series could soon have a major graphic overhaul that could facilitate its return in the future.
In a new project called RevIVe by BisonSales, a new group of modders is basically looking to remaster Grand Theft Auto IV with modern visuals. So far, what has been shown seems pretty amazing. This feat uses the iCEnhancer 4 beta mod to completely recreate the graphic fidelity of GTA IV. This includes texture reviews, lighting, and even the overall performance of the game.
So far, iCEnhancer and RevIVe have only released an initial video showing this graphic mod in action (which you can see above), but what has been highlighted is excellent. While there is still a lot of work to be done on the project, the textures that can be seen in this new iteration of Liberty City match what we expected from the new generation titles.
At the moment, this RevIVe project is still beginning to develop and may take a little longer to publish. The creators have said that at the moment they are only working in their free time, but they are looking to raise more funds through Patreon so that they can devote more time to its creation.
The other major drawback of this mod is that it will obviously only be available to those who have the computer once it arrives. While PlayStation and Xbox games have been undergoing modifications over the years, GTA IV it is too old to allow. If you want to play the game on a console, you can do so by digging into your PS3 or playing on Xbox One or Xbox Series X / S using previous compatibility.
All in all, if this RevIVe mod ends up seeing the light of day, it will be a really awesome feat and it sure will. GTA IV much more attractive to visit again. If there is more news with the creation of this mod in the future, we will let you know in our dedicated GTA cover page.
So what do you think about this elegant new look? GTA IV? Is it enough to make him want to play again through the game? Give me your feedback on the comments or check me out on Twitter at @ MooreMan12 to talk more.
