Some new comments from Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, make PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers eager GTA 6 a little worried and holding the wallet tightly. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, some games cost $ 70. On PS4 and Xbox One, games never exceeded the $ 60 price we had for over a decade. And some games continue to be priced at $ 60, but slowly but surely, publishers are priced at $ 70. Last year, Take-Two Interactive charged $ 70 for NBA 2K21 on PS5 and Xbox Series X. And now it looks like it may charge $ 70 for more games in the future, yes Grand Theft Auto fans on alert.
As expected, there has been some reaction to the rising prices of some games, but apparently not enough. During this month’s Morgan Stanley conference on technology, media and telecommunications, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed that Take-Two believes consumers are ready for the hike.
“We have announced a price of $ 70 for NBA 2K21, and our view was that we offer a number of extraordinary experiences, a lot of reproducibility, and the last time there was a front-line price increase in the United States was in 2005 and 2006, so we believe that consumers were prepared for that, ”CEO said.
Fortunately for Grand Theft Auto fans, Zelnick followed up by noting that he and his team don’t believe all games are that price point because not all games justify the increase; however, it looks like their biggest games will make that leap.
“We haven’t said anything about the price of other titles so far, and we usually do title-by-title ads, but I think our vision is always to add more value.”
During the same conference, Zelnick also finally addressed rumors and speculation GTA 6, although, unsurprisingly, his response was not very revealing.
