Hackers steal information from over 40 million T-Mobile customers

The telecommunications company T-Mobile, confirmed that it was the victim of a cyber attack by hackers who appropriated the names, dates of birth and social security numbers of millions of customers.

According to the Washington Post, hackers entered the system earlier this week and had access to confidential information from 40 million people who have applied for a loan with the company.

T-Mobile assured that among the leaked information there is no financial data of its customers.

“It is important to stress that neither phone numbers, account numbers, PIN numbers, passwords or financial information were compromised in the stolen files,” T-Mobile said in written statements.

The company assured that it would contact the affected customers and offer them an identity protection service for two years.
