Haitian prosecutors are seeking an interview with Prime Minister Ariel Henry in the murder investigation

Haiti’s top prosecutor sent a letter to Prime Minister Ariel Henry to try to interview him on the night of the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, Reuters reported. “The head of the criminal prosecution would be grateful if you could come forward … to cooperate with the Haitian judiciary if you so wish, given the restrictions granted by your status as a senior state official,” prosecutor Bed- Ford Claude, urging him to appear before a hearing on Tuesday. Claude said in the letter that mobile phone data showed Henry talking to former justice Joseph Felix Badio, the main suspect in Moise’s death, within hours of the crime. Location data also showed Badio at the crime scene location.

In Haiti, only presidents can force an officer to testify before prosecutors. Henry did not respond to any requests for comment.
