DETROIT – With the announcement that six new vaccination clinics will open earlier this week, some seniors, such as 83-year-old Janice Coutilish, are wondering if this will finally be their chance to get the vaccine.
ORIGINAL HISTORY: Wayne County announces new vaccination clinics for seniors
“I’ve really talked to several women, mostly because they’ve all indicated that, you know, they’re all waiting,” Coutilish said. “I think this will definitely be in everyone’s favor.”
Starting Tuesday, free clinics that will open will include Melvindale, Romulus, Wayne City, Canton Township and Plymouth will be paired in a faculty alongside Highland Park and Hamtramck. Older people should contact the nearest teacher to arrange an appointment.
Announcements
“So far, especially in the Wayne community, everything has been located in the Detroit area with very little anywhere else,” Coutilish said. “I hope they spread it out a bit now.”
To date, Wayne County has distributed more than 36,601 vaccines. Another 13,000 have been scheduled for this week alone. Coutilish just wants to go ahead and end this.
“It simply came to our notice then. We have followed all the rules and, as we know, we have been patient and now everyone is anxious “, concluded Coutilish. “Everyone is anxious, but I think six should help.”
Note: Remember once again, that these vaccines will only be for residents of specific communities.

“All vaccinated residents are getting closer to ending the pandemic,” Evans said. “I also want to thank the state of Michigan for working with Wayne County to ensure we have more doses to vaccinate our seniors faster. The vaccine distribution process is limited by the available vaccine, of which no one has enough, but Wayne County is firing into the arms as fast as we can. “
