“We continue to work efficiently. We have to be patient. There will not be enough supply until late spring or summer for most people. But we are doing what we can to make sure there is a fair and equitable approach. “It won’t be resolved overnight,” Hidalgo said.
During Thursday’s conference, Hidalgo added that the county will go through all the supply over the weekend, but for anyone concerned about their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, Hidalgo said don’t worry.

“You will be scheduled for the second dose,” he said. “We’ve already done about 4,000 doses this week. We have a system in Harris County for monitoring. The state and federal government has assured us that we will continue to get doses.”
Harris County has received approximately 9,000 doses per week and expects to reach 30,000 per week soon.
“We continue to demand more doses from the federal government and the state. We need supply chains to catch up,” he said.
