A Spokane man was arrested Wednesday after police said he had threatened to blow up a labor union building. County Democrats, with a device he said was an explosive device, officials in Spokane said. Police have not yet determined whether the device is actually an explosive. Police told KREM that the offender held someone hostage in an office amid his threats and set fire to the building. Police said everyone escaped safely. A joint statement from The Spokane County Democrats and Washington State Democrat leader Tina Botlodowski said: “Our primary concern is for the safety of our volunteers and the broad community of Spokane.” “We urge every elected official and community leader to join us in condemning this politically motivated act of violence.
