DENVER: Saturday morning is pretty quiet, but the storm is moving and we’ll start to see a winter mix in the Denver subway area later this morning. This mix will turn into heavy snow this afternoon!
We are still forecasting snowfalls along the front mountain range, with the most intense snow on the foothills and mountains north of the front mountain range.
The accumulations will still be impressive near Denver, but probably around 12 to 18 inches on Sunday night.

A winter storm warning will be in effect from early Saturday through Monday morning for the entire Denver subway area, the plains and the mountains. Expect heavy snow, poor visibility and dangerous driving conditions this weekend. Many roads are likely to be impassable.
The heaviest snow should fall from Saturday afternoon until Sunday afternoon and will gradually decrease until it loosens on Sunday night.
It looks like Denver could see 18-24 inches of snow. Buttresses and mountains east of the continental divide can receive 24-48 inches of snow. Some mountain sites will end up with about 60 inches of snow. The eastern plains will have a mixture of rain and snow, but should get at least an inch of welcome moisture (total melt).
