On February 10, the hospital system announced that it would now allow a person 18 years of age or older to visit one patient a day. The new policy begins Thursday, February 11th.
As for pediatrics, Hermann Memorial said it will allow two adult visitors [18 and over] per patient and day and one adult [18 and over] visitor overnight.
The new policy will apply to all Hermann Memorial facilities.
Additional details of Memorial Hermann’s updated visitor policy include:
- One visitor (over 18 years old) will be allowed per patient and day.
- Age restrictions do not apply to visitors under the age of 18 who show up at the emergency center with a patient. Minors accompanying patients to the Emergency Center may remain with the patient.
- Visiting hours at all Memorial Hermann, TIRR Memorial Hermann and Katy Rehab hospitals are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Visitors to patients with day surgery will be allowed to remain in situ until the patient is discharged as long as social distancing in the waiting area is not compromised.
- Family members can visit patients with hospital care or supportive medicine.
- Visitors can use cafes and hospital cafes.
All visitors must clear a health check before entering the facility and wear a mask that the hospital will provide at all times.
For family members who are unable to visit their loved ones at the hospital, Hermann Memorial encourages the use of video chat programs on personal devices.
