Hitman 3 surpasses its predecessor to claim the number 1 | Graphics in UK boxes

The PS5 version accounted for almost half of sales

Hitman 3 has reached number 1 on the UK boxing charts, with a 17% higher sales volume than its predecessor.

Developed and owned by IO Interactive, the release of Hitman 3 was managed by Square Enix, the company that previously owned the franchise before releasing it. The latest game, Hitman 2 of 2018, was released by Warner Bros.

The PS5 version of the game was by far the dominant edition, accounting for 49% of sales. The Xbox version accounted for 27%, while the PS4 version accounted for 25%. Of course, these are just physical games, most of the sales of Hitman 3 will have occurred in the digital download space.

Hitman’s most notable debut means that Animal Crossing: New Horizons falls to number 2, even though only 800 games separate the two titles. Animal Crossing sales fell 8% on weekdays.

Some new PS5 consoles were released last week, which had a positive impact on some titles. Spider-Man: Miles Morales has risen 161%, from number 12 to number 5, Demon’s Souls re-enters the charts at number 27 with a 291% increase in sales and there have been sales bumps for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (56% more and driven by the PlayStation version) and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (7% more, but with the PS5 version 174%). Overall, PS5 game sales rose 324% on weekdays.

Another big boost was Ring Fit Adventure. The Nintendo Switch fitness game has often jumped on the charts during the pandemic whenever new stocks appear on the market. The game rises to number 7 with 47% sales.
