Hollywood residents had a real cow on Friday, when the iconic Los Angeles neighborhood sign was vandalized for the second time this year.
Three men in their twenties were arrested after allegedly smashing the landmark by placing a cow’s head on the first “O,” according to the Times, citing police sources.
Six people were arrested in February after changing the sign to read “Hollyboob,” including adult publisher “Shag Mag” Julia Rose, according to reports.
The cow joke may have been an advertisement for local band Junior Varsity, TMZ reports.
Recently, the band released their first single, “Cold Blood,” which has a cow on the cover, while their social media has been telling people to “Look for the signs,” TMZ noted.
“It’s really unfortunate that people want to try to make a statement on the sign,” Hollywood Sign Trust President Mark Panatier told the LA Times, calling the response from police and park rangers “spectacular.”
The names of the men have not yet been published. According to police, they will be reserved for breach of offense.
