Human rights activist Ada Casa Plaza, the story battling “Steven-Johnson” syndrome went viral in recent days, has announced that she was discharged from the hospital.
The woman developed the disease as an adverse effect to a prescription drug, and as a result, her skin began to show severe burns.
“THEY JUST DISCHARGED ME! The doctors just came to talk to me, ‘We don’t know how, but your labs improved drastically from yesterday to today and it’s obvious the change in how your skin has healed. You can now go home with your family. “IT WAS HIS PRAYERS!” Plaza wrote.
According to the non-profit organization May Clinic, the disease is a serious one that requires hospitalization. The patient’s skin peels and blisters appear which is denoted as a painful process.
In recent days, Plaza’s husband has started a campaign to raise funds and be able to pay for his medical treatments.
The initial goal was $ 15,000, however, the campaign now reaches the $ 23,926 raised for the woman’s recovery.
