Zoom offers its Live Transcription feature to free users. Paid users have access to the file service for a while, but soon free users will too they have the option to add automated closure with AI technologysubtitles to his meetings.
Live transcript will be released to all accounts this fall, but you can request early access via this application form. Multilingual zoom hosts, note: at launch, tthe function only recognizes English.
We’re not sure how long it will take to grant early access, but here’s how to enable real-time Zoom transcription once it’s available.:
- Sign in to Zoom website.
- Wow a Settings> Meeting.
- Active “Subtitles.” Note: If you see the feature but can’t turn it on, you may need to ask permission from your Zoom group or account administrator. You can find more information on the Zoom support page.
- Switch on “Enable live transcription service to show transcript on meeting sidebar”.
How live transcription is activated during a meeting you organize
- Make sure live transcription is turned on by following the steps above
- Open Zoom i to start a new meeting or join one.
- Click on “Subtitles” or “Live transcript” of call controls.
- Select “Enable automatic transcription”
Once Live Transcription is activated, continue the call normally. The application will manage all subtitles.

The app will automatically recognize the voice and type it on the screen, but there are likely to be some errors. In accordance with Zoom Support Page, a live ttranscriptionaccuracy may be affected by:
- Background noise
- Volume and clarity of the speaker’s voice
- English language proficiency
- Lexics and dialects of a geography or community
If live transcription does not work, Zoom recommends writing manual subtitles for your meeting room or meetings Zoom in real time.
Google Meet also works as a contingency plan if Zoom auto-generating captions aren’t available. Meet’s automatic subtitles they are easy to ignite and recognize English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish. If everything else fails, you can do it use third-party tools such as Description or even a payment transcription service to add subtitles to a previously recorded meeting.
