The embajada of the United States in Bogota is processing a limited number of visas due to the current covid-19 pandemic. Although we have gradually increased the availability of visa appointments as the covid-19 situation has improved, we still have a significant delay caused by the pandemic and we appreciate your patience during this time.

We are giving priority to immigrant visas for emergencies and then to immediate relatives of U.S. citizens (IR-1, IR-2, CR-1, CR-2, IR-5), including adoptions (IH-3, IR-3), to the promises of American citizens (K-1, K-2), and certain special immigrant visa applications in accordance with the order of priority of the Department of State. We continue to schedule interviews for many classes of nonimmigrant visas — including student, exchange, worker, and tourist visas — but at a slower pace than in pre-pandemic times.
If you have an urgent trip due to a real emergency, you can request an appointment advance for the nonimmigrant visa. In general, we only approve appointment appointments for emergency medical travel, when an immediate relative in United States has died, and to attend exchange programs or universities that award academic credits. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not provide emergency appointments for tourism, business trips or to attend English programs as a second language.
If you consider that you qualify for a non-immigrant visa appointment advance due to medical reasons or other urgent travel needs, visit the following website for more information: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/es -co / level / information / faqs.
When completing an appointment advance request, be sure to follow all instructions and include all possible details, including the purpose of your trip, the itinerary, and the reason why you consider your request. it is an emergency. We cannot approve an application that does not include sufficient details.
