If I get vaccinated, do I still have to wear a mask / face covering?
Yes, you will still need to wear a mask and follow other precautions. To stop a pandemic you need to use all the tools available. Vaccines boost the immune system, so you will be prepared to fight the virus if you are exposed. Other steps, such as masks and social distancing, help you reduce your chances of being exposed or spreading the virus.
Are there any side effects when it comes to getting the vaccine?
Some volunteers in vaccine trials have reported that they frequently feel flu-like effects after being vaccinated, such as body aches, or even fever and headaches, federal health officials said.
Will I get proof of having the vaccine?
Vaccination cards will be used as the “easiest” way to track Covid-19 traits, said Dr. Kelly Moore, associate director of the Immunization Action Coalition, which supports front-line workers who will administer vaccines against Covid-19.
“Everyone will be sent a written card that they can put in their wallet to tell them what they had and when the next dose is due,” Moore said. “First we do the simple and easy. Everyone will get it.”
If I had COVID-19, do I need the vaccine?
According to the CDC, there is currently not enough information available to say whether or for how long after infection someone is protected against COVID-19 recovery; this is called natural immunity. Early evidence suggests that natural immunity to COVID-19 may not last long, but more studies are needed to better understand it. Until a vaccine is available and the Immunization Advisory Committee makes recommendations to the CDC on how best to use COVID-19 vaccines, the CDC cannot comment on whether people who have COVID-19 should receive a COVID-19 vaccine. 19.
