Sacramento Regional Transit will offer a free light rail service on New Year’s Eve. It starts at 4pm on Tuesday and lasts until the end of the service that night.
SacRT spokeswoman Jessica Gonzalez said that unlike system-free free travel days, this one is a little different because it is aimed at a sponsored event.
“This is a partnership with Visit Sacramento to offer free travel for people to go out to celebrate and enjoy the spectacular New Year’s Eve,” Gonzalez said.
Gonzalez said the free attractions are meant for people to head to the Old Sacramento Boardwalk for the fireworks show, but passengers don’t have to head that way to go for free. The offer does not apply to SacRT buses.
Users will need to show a brochure that you can print or display on your phone. You can download the app or brochure from the SacRT website or print the following brochure.
Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m. The last train on the Golden Line to Sunrise / Folsom will leave Station 7 and Capitol at 22:54. , and the last train traveling to Watt / I-80 will leave the station 9th & K at 12:32 am
