Commodities must have seen all the attention Krispy Kreme gets to distribute free donuts to people vaccinated all year round (with testing using a valid vaccination card), because they now offer to laminate these cards for everyone for free. In the latest installment of Nice Things that companies are doing to us right now, Staples announced yesterday that it will roll out, at no cost, any completed vaccination cards by May 1 and this morning, Office Depot followed suit, promising free lamination until July 25th.

It’s still unclear how important paper cards will be in the coming months, but you’ll probably need your vaccination test at some point if you’re traveling or when you get back to work or school. Since there is no complete “digital vaccination passport” system in the US, most of us will rely on this piece of paper as the only proof that we have been vaccinated.

In order to protect its integrity for as long as we need it, Staples explains Business Insider which will be laminated any vaccination card after the cardholder has received two doses (for vaccines that require two, that is) until May 1st. This date is an extension from its initial announcement on April 3rd. The offer is good in store in places all over the country; coupon code is “81450”, according to CBS Boston. The Office Depot offer is very much the same, but extends until the end of July; coupon code is 52516714 i the offer can be printed here.

Keep in mind that while the laminate on the card can help prevent it from being damaged, it doesn’t stop you from losing it. It’s still a good idea to take a clear photo of the card for your records in case it’s missing.
