A Capitol police officer died days after responding to Wednesday’s assault on the building, Capitol police confirmed Sunday on CBS News. Capitol police said Officer Howard Liebengood died off duty.

Liebengood’s father, Howard Liebengood Sr., was the arms sergeant in the Senate from 1981 to 1983.
